Would you stay in an Igloo?

Did you know there is a place where you can stay in a glass (or real) igloo and watch the aurora borealis dance by on a clear night? How dreamy. Would you do it? Brr..... It is this called Hotel Kakslauttanen -- Igloo Village in Finland. Wow!

That looks awesome! I would totally stay in one of the glass igloos (if I could afford it. I'm sure it's expensive.) Even if you didn't get to see the lights the stars would be just as amazing I think.

I've stayed in an ice igloo in Finland and it was so fascinating (they gave us special long johns and wool blankets and we stayed incredibly comfortable). The freezing part is when you're the only one who needs a middle-of-the-night bathroom break (outside.. across a field of snow). But wow, that's beautiful country!

I stayed in an igloo in Switzerland for my husbands 30th and it was magical! We had fondue for dinner, went on a snow shoe hike at night, hung out in the hot tub and then snuggled in the warmest sleeping bags every. They woke us up in the morning with hot tea. I'd definitely recommend it!! here's the pics if you are interested! http://www.avillagetown.com/search?q=igloo

Of course I would! I've heard that many people who travel to see the aurora boreal finally can't get to see it so I guess if you're staying somewhere this nice it doesn't bother you that much :) Great blog BTW

That looks so cool. I'd have to get over my aversion to the cold though. I live in Canada, so when I travel, I tend to go to warmer climates.

My work day went totally off the rails on Friday after seeing you post. I am a brand new reader to your blog (wish I could remember which rabbit hole I went down to find it) and LOVE it!
I scoured the website of that resort and priced flights from Washington DC for January (yikes!). I'm not much of a cold weather person but have been entranced by the thought of experiencing an ice hotel and seeing the borealis. So your post appears to have prompted my husband and me to book that trip to the Ice Hotel in Quebec in January, and Lapland in the summer! Thank you so much for posting, and for your lovely blog. Signed, one of your appreciative newbie followers.
